What “ghost followers” means here
Ghost followers usually means people who no longer engage. This tool cannot measure activity. Low-signal profiles (no profile photo and no name) may be inactive or incomplete; those traits are not evidence of inactivity. It screens a preview sample for default profile photos, absent full names and digit-heavy or random-looking handles.
At least two weak signals are needed to flag a profile. Private status is neutral; verification reduces the score by two. Unknown fields do not count. Active people can have all of these traits, so the result is a screening aid rather than a finding about activity.
The preview is not a random sample. Its percentage describes only the returned sample and must not be projected onto your whole audience. Post counts and posting frequency are not available in these rows and are not scored.
A few useful answers
Can this find all my ghost followers?
No. It screens the preview follower sample for weak profile signals. Low-signal profiles (no profile photo and no name) may be inactive or incomplete. The tool cannot measure activity or engagement or prove inactivity, and the sample may not represent your full audience.
Which signals are scored?
An explicitly reported default photo, an empty full name, and a digit-heavy or random-looking username each add one signal. At least two are needed. Verification subtracts two; private status is neutral. Missing fields are not scored.
Do you check whether followers have zero posts?
No. Post counts are not present in the follower sample, so they are not used. The checker also cannot see last activity or who reads your posts.
What does the percentage mean?
It is the number of sampled profiles meeting the threshold divided by the number of unique sampled followers. It is not an estimate of your whole audience. No percentage is shown when there is no sample.
What does the full audit unlock?
The existing paid plan provides available full-list coverage for a broader manual review. Availability can limit coverage, and a larger list still cannot prove inactivity.
