Is UnfollowersTrack a good FollowMeter alternative?
Yes. If you want a sampled public-profile preview without installing an app or logging into Instagram, UnfollowersTrack covers the same core need as FollowMeter in a browser. Full history requires completed subscribed scans.
Do I need to install an app like FollowMeter?
No. UnfollowersTrack still works directly in your browser, so an install is not required. If you prefer a native experience, our companion Lurke app is available on iOS and Android for completed-scan history and optional Pro change alerts.
Do I have to enter my Instagram password?
No. You can start a scan by entering a public @username — no password and no login required to begin. We never store Instagram passwords.
Can I check accounts other than my own, unlike FollowMeter?
Yes, when the profile is public and has no more than 20,000 followers or following. Private and larger profiles are not supported.
Which tool is better if I prefer a mobile app?
FollowMeter is the better fit if you want a native iOS or Android app for your own connected account. UnfollowersTrack is the better fit if you want to start in a browser without installing an app or connecting Instagram.
Is FollowMeter safe?
We don't give safety verdicts on other apps, so here is what FollowMeter itself documents. It says it "never posts, follows, likes or messages on your behalf". It does need you to sign in to your Instagram account, and since version 7.0 (July 2026) it says it keeps that account connected in the background. Its App Store privacy label lists purchases, identifiers and usage data as data used to track you, and the app contains ads. If you'd rather not connect your Instagram account to a third-party app, UnfollowersTrack works from a public @username without your password.
Is FollowMeter free?
Partly. FollowMeter says core tracking is free (the app contains ads) and that a PRO subscription unlocks unlimited history, media analytics and multiple accounts. On October 9, 2026 its App Store listing showed Plus at $3.99 a week, $4.99 a month or $23.99–$39.99 a year, PRO at $8.99, and $1.99 one-off packs. UnfollowersTrack shows a free sampled preview; completed full scans and history need a subscription.
